If the seeds are legal, but the plant that produces them is not, then where are all the seeds used on poppyseed bagels coming from? Why do our governments treat their citizens with such suspicion that they would rather rely on exploiting third-world farmers to import their poppyseed supply than allow it to be grown at home?

And most importantly, why is it is that our governments do not trust their own citizens enough to let us take responsibility for our own gardens, our own bodies, our own lives?

The Opium Poppy is one of the most beautiful and important plants on earth. We at poppies.org feel that everyone should have the right to grow anything they want to in their garden, and use whatever springs forth from the earth in any way that they wish -- and that it should be nobody's business but your own. It's called personal freedom.

Unfortunately, your local officials may not be inclined to agree with our philosophy. As stated before, all of the products sold through this web site are 100% legal -- including the seeds contained in your starter-kit. Nevertheless, it is your responsibility to make sure you comply with any laws in your area with regards to actually growing poppies.

Your purchase of Papaver Somniferum seeds constitutes your agreement to all such terms, conditions, and notices.

GENERAL DISCLAIMER
All seeds sold on this web site are offered exclusively for culinary use or personal scientific research relating to the ungerminated seeds. No other use of these seeds is condoned or recommended by this web site or its management.
