In the uk at least, growing opium poppies is totally legal, its just the harvesting thats illegal, they grow very commonly around the country and if you look in gardens more often than not you will see one or two

ive seen loads about of this type can u slit them as they are or do they have to be dried?? pls help me some! plus they are not mine so shoud i just cut the heads off about where the first leaf starts or uproot the plants ??? can you put them into a saucepan fresh/just picked and boil them up or do they need to dry some1 please please help me i want to try smoking sum!!!!! deperate Dan

score (slice) the pods while they are still alive (but not too deep!), about a day after the pedals fall off the flowers. let the "milk" dry on the pod, then scrape it off. It takes alot of dried milk (which is the opium) to get you high. Or if you want, pick the pods three or four days after the pedals fall off, dry them until they are completely dehydrated, then grind them up very finely and make tea out of them. Be very careful! it is very addictive, you should only use if you are in physical pain.
