It's an attempt to answer the most frequently asked questions about the Opium Poppy. Simple eh?
You mean I can actually grow Opium Poppies from grocery store seeds?
Yes you can. The very same seeds that you find on any poppyseed bagel are Opium Poppy seeds.
How potent are the major culinary (spicerack) varieties such as McCormick?
There is currently much speculation as to the quality of the pods produced from culinary seeds. Two varieties of Opium poppy, the 'Przemko', and the Tazmanian 'Norman' strain are both bred for "extremely low morphine content" -- Somewhere along the lines of 0.01% in the mature seed pod.
